Two-Day Trips Two Glorious Days on the Lower Kern River Our two-day Lower Kern is the ultimate in Kern River trips. This trip has the perfect progression for beginning paddlers and eases you in to a little more challenging white water by your second day on the water. The first day starts off with plenty of class I and II rapids that allow the crews to hone their skills before dropping into some class III’s that will get everyone ready for the bigger rapids the next day. The second day allows paddle crews to challenge themselves through a series of eight class IV rapids. We pause for an excellent lunch along side the river and even stop at a jump rock where guests can plunge into the river from new heights. This trip is perfect for those looking for new experiences to share with family like for a family reunion, a way to reunite the whole clan, settle your pace down and just have some time for reconnecting with each other in nature. We love helping parents, grandparents and grandchidren spend quality time together, in the outdoors. Other exciting occasions to spend with us are birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, however you don't have to have a special reason to participate in the extraordinary two-day Lower Kern trip, we just love the opportunity to get out and paddle. Our Fabulous Camp on the Lower Kern Two-Day Trip Our picturesque, riverside camp features amenities that make it user friendly even for the least experienced campers, but no one has to know, we'll help you look like a professional at it. We provide two-person pop-up tents, sleeping pads, and folding camp chairs for each guest. Guides prepare meals from fresh ingredients and provide a variety of dishes that are sure to satisfy all appetites. After a fun filled day of rapids you can relax in the shade on our sandy beach while enjoying an icy cold beverage, take a refreshing swim in the river, challenge your friends to a round of horseshoes or Botchy Ball, or explore the area and look for grinding holes left by the Native Americans hundreds of years ago. This could possibly be the most luxurious style of camping you have experienced. At night you’ll be amazed by the brilliance of our dark skies and the superb star-gazing opportunities. One-Day Trips: Class III A full day of wet and wild fun that starts out with some class I and II rapids that allows crews to work on their teamwork and paddling skills before dropping in to the big waves and holes of this class III section. Class IV About twelve miles of river with a series of eight Class IV rapids that will have your adrenaline pumping all day long. River Clean Up Option Be an environmental hero while you enjoy your rafting experience by participating in a River Clean Up trip. On this trip we make frequent stops along the river and clean up litter that has found its way into the Kern. In exchange for your service to our river community we reduce the price of a trip by up to 50%.
Fly Fishing Float Trip Option Let our fly fishing pros drop you into places where most fisherman dare not walk. Our elite trips float you silently into secret eddies and pools where the trout, bass, and catfish are voracious and oh-so-lonely for you and your lure. One day: $406.85 Two day: $540.75
Bike Rental Option Rent a mountain bike from our shop and it will be at our Lower Kern Camp when you arrive by raft. Then take an afternoon cruise and explore the canyon from a different perspective. $15
Interpretative and Educational Trip Option Skilled guides not only make sure you have fun, but you’ll also learn lots more about the countryside you paddle through than on our regular trips. All questions are welcome as you learn the natural history and ecology of many plants and animals that have successfully evolved to call the Kern River canyon their home.
